Remarkable Rocks
When you go down under, on the continent also known as down under, and jump on a ferry to a small stretch of land known for its kangaroos and other assorted wildlife, you will eventually arrive at an amazing location known as the ‘Remarkable Rocks’. And actually, they really are exactly that.
But what makes them so remarkable? The rocks themselves have been carved out by the elements for over 500 million years. Around that time, Kangaroo Island formed a part of Godwana, a continent made up of Australia, South America, Africa, India, and Antarctica. Some 150 million years ago, this huge continent began to split up, with Australia and Kangaroo Island moving northward and taking the rocks with them.
The rocks are perched 200 feet above the sea within the Flinders Chase National Park on the south-western side of the island. They are a collection of gigantic, eroded granite boulders that, along with their covering of bright lichen, make up what is also a rather remarkable location.
This was scouted for a visit by a very-VIP, who shot there a year later.
